Kousa Dogwood

Kousa Dogwood

Cornus kousa (Kousa Dogwood)

The Kousa Dogwood is great as a stand alone focal point tree or in mass plantings.  The Kousa Dogwood also is great planted for their fall color.  As the tree matures the bark will exfoliate and be marbled.

The blooms on the Kousa Dogwood appear in late spring after their foliage has emerged with large white flowers.  As the flowers age they form a lime green rounded fruit and as the season goes on they transform into an orange edible fruit in the fall.
